Tres West Engineers provided mechanical and electrical design for the new construction of three buildings totaling 38,890 square feet, which included the police station, city building and planning, and city administration/finance departments. The scope of work included HVAC, plumbing, fire sprinklers, site utility and electrical systems, including parking lot lighting.
Old City Hall, Tacoma, WA
The old city hall is a classic historic structure located in Tacoma, Washington, and originally built in 1893. The city of Tacoma relocated to a different facility in 1959. This building has been used for offices, shops, and restaurants after its restoration in the early 1980's. Tres West Engineers, as part of a design-build team, provided design services to upgrade the building to modern codes and to provide office air conditioning. The project was initially designed in 2006 and incorporated stairwell and elevator pressurization systems. Air conditioning was added through the use of ductless split system units that gain efficiency by transferring heat from zone to zone.
Grays Harbor Courthouse Complex, Montesano, WA
This campus contains over 100,000 square feet of buildings including the historic Montesano Courthouse, the Sheriff and County Jail Facility, the original County Jail Facility and the County Office Building. Tres West provided mechanical/electrical engineering services for renovations and additions to Sheriff Offices, Jail Facilities, a kitchen, new security central command, emergency operations center and complete campus security and fire alarm systems.
Hiawatha Community Center Renovations, Seattle, WA
Tres West Engineers provided mechanical and electrical design services for the renovation of a 15,000 square foot Community Center. The scope of work included providing modifications to heating, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems for the addition of four new restrooms, as well as a new elevator. Also provided design changes to ductwork in the gymnasium for improved heating and ventilation. Completed in early 1999.
Tumwater City Hall & Maintenance Facility, Tumwater, WA
Provided design for a new City Hall and Maintenance Facility, which included a vehicle storage area with fuel stations consisting of 10,000 gallons of storage fuel tanks.
Lacey City Hall, Lacey, WA
Tres West Engineers provided mechanical and electrical design services for the remodel of Lacey City Hall. The areas of work were a conference room and the Police Department Facility within the City Hall building. The scope included relocating prisoner holding cells, changing an open-office area to four private offices and upgrading the conference room. The existing HVAC system was re-distributed and re-balanced to accommodate the new floor layout and occupancy requirements. Lighting and power were adjusted to the revised space arrangements.
