Highland Park Elementary School, Seattle, WA Tres West Engineers provided mechanical and electrical design services for a new 71,182 square foot facility on the existing school site. Mechanical design services included a heat pump HVAC system, plumbing, fire sprinkling, EMCS, and all electrical systems.
	Frye Hotel Renovation, Seattle, WA The Frye Hotel in Seattle was technically challenging historic renovation project. The building was constructed in 1907, and was innocent of regular maintenance in its recent history. The work environment was particularly challenging due to cleanliness, as well as factors such as limited space availability, structural upgrades, and the aesthetic nature of certain spaces. The existing steam heating system was reused, and new ventilation and life safety systems were provided. Whole house ventilation, elevator shaft and stairwell pressurization and commercial laundry exhaust systems were among those included. HVAC systems were also provided for the new banquet hall, community room, retail space and counseling center. The project also included a complete replacement of the plumbing and fire protection systems. No as-built documentation was available, so mechanical systems were documented by Tres West Engineers.
	Julie Apartments Renovation, Seattle, WA Julie Apartments is an existing five-story 1929 historical residential facility. The building did not meet current life safety codes or current standards for indoor air quality and energy efficiency. Tres West Engineers provided mechanical engineering services for the remodel of the apartment building. Phase 1 of the project involved remodeling the first floor portion of the building named the "Urban Rest Stop." This "Rest Stop" consists of a commercial laundry facility and showers for usage by both genders. The laundry/showers were provided with air-to-air heat reclaim for energy efficiency. Phase 2 of the project was to remodel and retrofit the apartments on the first through fifth floors. The original steam radiators were reused and converted to hydronic (heating water) service. The aging carbon steel piping system was removed and a copper system installed in its place for the plumbing requirements.
	Maple Lane School Kitchen Remodel , Littlerock, WA Maple Lane School is a medium-security State-operated Juvenile Detention and Custody facility. Tres West Engineers recently provided engineering services for the remodel of the campus kitchen facility. The project included replacement of the entire domestic water and waste plumbing system.
